LOVE’S SWEET BEGINNING is a new novel by Ms. Shorey. Set in 1868, it is after the Civil War when the country is still trying to pull itself together. Cassie is a very plucky heroine, used to living in the lap of luxury, but now reduced to living at the same level—or lower—than the servants her family used to own. Zack is older, a businessman, but he is no match for Cassie’s determination. I did have slight problems with the way he allowed her to run all over him to get her desires, but he was a true hero and willing to go out of his way to help hurting people, so his weakness could be viewed as a willingness to help the less fortunate. I did love the way he went out of his way to work behind the scenes to meet Cassie’s needs.

If you are looking for a good historical romance, then LOVE’S SWEET BEGINNINGS is a book to consider. A great read that held my interest all the way through. $14.99. 354 pages. 4 stars.
