RILEY MAE AND THE ROCK SHOCKER TREK is the first book in The Good News Shoes series. It is written for tweeners (8-12 year olds), so I am letting one of my tweens review the book (which I got from Zondervan for review, with no expectations for a positive review.)

In my daughter’s words: RILEY MAE AND THE ROCK SHOCKER TREK is a really exciting book. Riley Mae liked the shoes she was shown at her father’s shoe store and all of sudden she’s a spokes-girl for the shoes. She featured on the cover of lot of magazines.

Then Riley Mae’s best friend gets mad at her because she’s missing all the softball games. Things only get worse from there, and there’s a bunch of secrets that were a surprise and kept the pages turning.

Riley Mae is twelve, just like me, and if she were a real person she’d be my friend because she’s like me, she likes sports and reading. And I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Riley Mae and the Ready Eddy Rapids. 5 stars. $7.99. 240 pages.
