It's those we love who have the power to hurt us most . . .

Champion backcountry snowboarder Gage Watson has left the limelight behind after the death of one of his fans. After being sued for negligence and stripped of his sponsorships, he's remade his life as a ski patrol in Montana's rugged mountains, as well as serving on the PEAK Rescue team. But he can't seem to find his footing--or forget the woman who betrayed him.

Senator and former attorney Ella Blair spends much of her time in the public eye as one of the youngest senators in the country. But she has a secret--one that cost Gage his career. More than anything, she wants to atone for her betrayal of him in the courtroom and find a way to help him put his career back on track.

When Ella's brother goes missing on one of Glacier National Park's most dangerous peaks, Gage and his team are called in for the rescue. But Gage isn't so sure he wants to help the woman who destroyed his life. More, when she insists on joining the search, he'll have to keep her safe while finding her reckless brother--a recipe for disaster when a snowstorm hits the mountain.

My thoughts:  Oh, my word. There is a reason Susan May Warren is one of my very favorite authors and this book is a great illustration of it. Real, hurting characters. Nail-biting adventure. Fast paced, non-stop action. Hot romance. And a strong faith message.

A MATTER OF TRUST has it all. Tension, adventure, action, romance, faith and it is combined in a novel I literally couldn't put down. Unless I had to. I have never been skiing, but even I felt the thrill, the fear, the adrenaline as they made dangerous jumps over cliffs, the sides of waterfalls, and more. I wondered if they would find Ollie alive --and then if they'd even survive.

If you have never read Susan May Warren's books, seriously, you need to. She is a must-read author for me, and has been since I discovered her very first romance, a novella, that launched her writing career.

A MATTER OF TRUST is the third book in the Montana Rescue series and it does stand alone, but fans will want to read every single one of them as they meet and fall in love with members of this tight rescue team.

I can't wait for the next book. Probably coming in winter 2018. I was provided a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
