. . . the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, singing . . . Revelation 4:10 RSV
I saw a photo of an aging veteran standing from his wheelchair and saluting as the American flag passed by during a parade. He was a true patriot and an example of his belief by honoring his country.
Another example of profound belief and worship was when Queen Victoria was advanced in years and suffered great pain. During a performance of Handel’s Messiah, as the choir sang King of kings and Lord of lords, she painfully rose to her feet. She was unable to remain seated before the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Both the unknown veteran and Queen Victoria are examples of how deep beliefs move people.
Do we proclaim God’s majesty in our lives? Our actions? Do we strive to live Christ-like?
King of kings and Lord of lords, I crown You with many crowns. You are on Your throne. You are in my life. I worship and adore You. I lift my voice in praise. Amen.
