Sister's Choice

Title: SISTER’S CHOICE

Genre: Inspirational/historical

Maggie Newcomb isn’t at all good with normal household things. She can’t sew, she can’t quilt, she’s tolerable in the kitchen. And she prefers dressing in overalls instead of dresses. However, now she’s set her eyes on Colby Stoddard—and his mother is one of Maggie’s worst critics. Deciding the way to the son is through the mother, Maggie starts taking steps to improve herself.

However, Colby is being set up in a match with beautiful, wealthy Tamara Brennan, and she is the object of Evan’s desire. Maggie and Evan team together to try and break off the developing relationship between Tamara and Colby. But this scheme brings unexpected consequences. Will Maggie get what her heart truly desires?

SISTER’S CHOICE is book two in the Patchwork Circle series by Ms. Pella. I read book one, but other than a few references to book one, book two easily stands alone. I enjoyed getting to know Maggie and the other characters and watch as she struggled to master what she believed she needed to know to wed the man of her dreams.

The faith message is expertly woven in and isn’t preachy. The rural setting really could be set in a rural area anywhere, it doesn’t seem to be localized in any particular place. The characters are realistically developed, and even the secondary characters add to the storyline. Don’t miss SISTER’S CHOICE by this extremely talented author. A quilt pattern is included at that back of the book. $13.99. 347 pages.
