You pray for others--but are you forgetting to pray for
yourself?
Many of us find it easy to pray for the concerns and well-being of others. But when it comes to praying for ourselves, we may wonder, Should I pray for my own needs? Are any prayers too big or too small? Are my prayers selfish? Does praying really make a difference?
Praying God's Word for Your Life gives women the direction and Scripture we need to bring purpose and power to our prayers. In her warm, approachable style, Kathi Lipp shares more than one hundred specific prayers for our lives, relationships, worries, mistakes, faith, and more. The simple strategies Kathi reveals will help each of us create a habit of praying with renewed boldness, consistency, and expectation.

PRAYING GOD’S WORD FOR YOUR LIFE is a book to help women to
pray for themselves. There are sample prayers in there, if you need help
getting jumpstarted, you can look for the appropriate category and pray one of
them. Ms. Lipp suggests setting apart a set, permanent time during your day to
pray, a special prayer spot, and keeping a prayer basket prepared near that
spot. The prayer basket should include your Bible, a notebook, a prayer
journal, prayer books (including hers) and a few other things.
I like the book, it is friendly and well-written, and I like
that it encourages us women to take time in our busy days to pray. Too many
times our lives are rushed and our prayers are equally rushed, as we’re running
out the door… “God, you know my concerns. Take care of them.” And Ms. Lipp
isn’t saying that’s bad. She’s saying that your life reflects what you put into
prayer. And when you take the time to give God attention, then your life will
reflect that as well.
If you are looking for a book to help you pray better, and
to pray God’s Word, then pick up PRAYING GOD’S WORD IN YOUR LIFE. Recommended.
