INTO THE WHIRLWIND is a new novel by Ms. Camden. Set in
1871, it begins with a scene from the beginnings of the Great Chicago Fire,
then backtracks six days to when Zack and Mollie have a business meeting and
both of them “notice” each other for the first time.
I have no complaint with the writing. Ms. Camden is a very
talented writer and she pays great attention to detail. However, I found the
story very slow moving and I couldn’t connect with the characters at all.
I’ve read some of Ms. Camden’s books and loved them. I loved
the premise of this story—the Great Chicago Fire. But unfortunately, INTO THE WHIRLWIND was a
miss for me.
However, don’t take my word for it. You may love this book.
If you like historicals with strong business women, then INTO THE WHIRLWIND is
a book to consider. $14.99. 384 pages
