Title: A STORY OF EASTER AND ALL OF US: Companion to the Hit TV Miniseries The Bible
Authors: Roma Downey and Mark Burnett
Publisher: Bookish (A Division of Hachett Book Group, Inc.)
Genre: Gift Book
From the Last Supper in the upper room to the celebration of finding an empty tomb, this beautiful full color book chronicles the journey of Christ's death and resurrection in a way the Easter story has never before been "told." Containing extraordinary images from the Emmy-nominated TV series watched by over 100 million people, The Bible, A STORY OF EASTER AND ALL OF US is a book that will take a deserved place among the finest celebrations of Easter.
Easter is quickly approaching, and Lent has begun (as I write this review), and Christians are beginning to celebrate Jesus’ life, death, burial, and resurrection. A STORY OF EASTER AND ALL OF US is a tribute to this Christian holiday and tells the story through pictures and words.
The pictures are taken from the TV miniseries, The Bible, and are tastefully done.
A STORY OF EASTER AND ALL OF US does add to scripture. The Bible gives us the basics and not all the details, and this book is the interpretation of the facts and expansion into what might have been reality—or might be false information. I don’t really know. It does add to the story for entertainment purposes.
This is a gift book, and would make a good gift for someone for Easter. $20.00 hardcover. 128 pages. 4 stars.
