My thoughts (lvh): DEAD EVEN is the sixth and final book in this series, but it stands alone as I am reading them out of order.
Maya is a powerful business woman--a dragon lady--and at first I didn't like her. I worked for people like her and honestly they terrify me. You never know when they'll snap. But Maya softened up a lot by the end of the book and became relatable.
Hunter has been majorly hurt and is afraid off love. Still, the strong, powerful Maya attracts him. An FBI agent, he's strong, too.
With the current pandemic and the conspiracy theories, this book is timely and somewhat scary. All the technical chemistry stuff was a bit overwhelming, but it refreshed my memory of some of the details I'd forgotten.
For more conservative readers there are a few soft swear words.
If you like romantic suspense, you will want to grab a copy of DEAD EVEN.
I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.
