A Taste of Fame

Title: A TASTE OF FAME
Authors: Linda Evans Shepherd and Eva Marie Everson
Publisher: Revell
September 2009
ISBN: 978-0-8007-3209-7
Genre: Inspirational/women’s fiction

The women of the Potluck Catering Club have developed a growing business. But when they catered a wedding, Lisa Leann’s son filmed the class for one of his college projects. Problem is, no one read the fine print when they signed off for his documentary, and suddenly they find themselves contestants on a reality show for caterers, playing for one million dollars.

None of the women in the Potluck Club quite know what to think, but with the contract nonnegotiable and legally binding suddenly they find themselves preparing to head for New York City to compete. And to make matters even more interesting Wade and David, both of whom have love interests in Donna (a member of the club) are supposed to go along as wait-staff. And suddenly their vying for Donna’s attention are making it on national tv.

Will the women make it home in one piece? Or will they give up under pressure?

A TASTE OF FAME is the second book in The Potluck Catering Club series, and I would recommend reading the first book first since they all tie together. I enjoyed reconnecting with the characters in this book and learning more about their lives and struggles.

A reality tv show was a nice interesting touch, and it was kind of fun watching the themes they came up with, and how the visit to New York went. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series. Some yummy recipes are included at the end of the book. $13.99. 359 pages.
