Let Go and Let God by Jenna V Hilton

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

My pit bull lab mix, Skye, had an injury on her back leg a while ago. A small ‘owie’. She loved to gnaw on it. In order to stop her, we had to put the “Cone Of Shame” on her and bandage her leg. She does not like the Cone Of Shame and did not appreciate all the attention her leg was getting. As such, Dad had to do all the doctoring. Needless to say, we had a grumpy dog for a while. We have to gauge her mood before putting The Cone Of Shame on because although she’s never bit, Skye can ROAR and she knows it rattles us. So we have to put The Cone on her when she’s in a good mood, but The Cone still instantly dampens it.

That’s something we struggle with too. We get hurt spiritually and instead of going to God for healing, we “gnaw” at our wounds and let them fester. We become bitter, thinking God doesn’t care but actually He’s right beside us, waiting for us to ask him for help. Yes, God knows when we need help, but He gave us free will. He loves us. God DESPERATELY wants to help us, but He can’t unless we ask.

Ask and ye shall receive. Seek and ye will find. Knock and the door will be open unto you.”  Matthew 7:7-8 KJV

We need to remember all we gotta do is ask.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for always being there. Help us to remember that You are always just a prayer away. In Jesus Name, Amen.
