What About Me?! By Jenna V Hilton

My brother brought his new puppy over to our house once. And Skye’s reaction was huge. Skye has to be kept outside so baby Becky wouldn’t get hurt. When Loundy and Rebecca left, and Skye came in, she was not happy. She dashed around the house, panting, and sniffing everything Becky touched. Finally she sat next to me, looked straight at me, and huffed. It’s like she was saying, “Mom! How could you! Don’t you love me?”

We get jealous too. When someone at work gets a raise or promotion. When someone you know gets a brand new phone or Apple Watch. It’s times like this that we need to remember that we have eternal treasure in Heaven that won’t mold, or rust, or get bug infested. An eternal treasure that is worth more than anything on earth. That’s what matters in the long haul.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for providing for us on earth, and help us to keep our eyes on you, instead of the world and its temptations. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Jenna V. Hilton is eighteen, and lives in Arkansas with her parents, two sisters, a brother, and dog.  She is a senior in high school and planning to attend college to become a veterinarian.

Your devotional reminds me of the song lyrics -- This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.

A very good analogy of just how us humans so easily get jealous of what other's have. I agree with you, Jenna and Linda Hoover, it is a good reminder.

Jenna, your devotional thought is a lovely reminder to keep our eyes on our heavenly home and not the things of this world.
