Best Present Ever! By Jenna V Hilton

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV

Skye, my pitbull lab mix, LOVES to rip up paper. This makes it very hard to keep Christmas presents safe and wrapped under the tree. We’ve resorted to putting the presents in a box under the tree and telling Skye off if she tries to snatch one. This requires constant vigilance, seeing as we wrap Skye’s dog treats. It’s very hard for Skye to wait, but it’s worth it.

God gave us a present like that, too. He promised Adam and Eve that he would send a Savior, promised King David that a greater King would come from his blood line. And when Jesus came, God sent a host of angels to tell... the shepherds? The lowest class of people in the Bible were the first to know about the King Of The World’s birth. That was one of the biggest presents God gave us. The biggest present was Jesus giving His life for us. As Christmas approaches, we need to remember and thank God for the miracle He performed for a stiff necked, stubborn people.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for sending your son to save us. Help us to remember the great sacrifice you made. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Jenna V. Hilton is eighteen, and lives in Arkansas with her parents, two sisters, a brother, and dog.  She is a senior in high school and planning to attend college to become a veterinarian.
