The Male Factor

Title: THE MALE FACTOR: Expanded Edition

Genre: Christian living

Have you ever wondered what men really think about women? Have you ever been passed up for promotion in the workplace, a promotion you feel like you deserved? Or maybe you feel that your male counterparts don’t hear you?

If any of the above situations are true, then you need to pick up THE MALE FACTOR. It will help you understand what men mean when they say certain things, what men think when you respond to them in certain ways, and what men think about what you wear.

Whether you work in the secular work world or the Christian workspace, you need to pay attention to how you respond to men, and what message you want them to receive when you speak.

For instance, you want to look nice for a certain presentation, and you want your male counterparts to take you seriously. So when you go to pick out what to wear, perhaps you should bypass the low-cut shirt that shows off cleavage, and the short tight skirt, and go for something that covers more than it reveals. You may not feel so sexy, but are you trying to sell sex, or your pet project? Men will focus on what you say if you are not dressing in a way that makes him think of what is under those clothes.

THE MALE FACTOR was kind of dull reading, but it was very informative, and for a woman who isn’t around men twenty-four seven, or maybe is single, it is very eye-opening. As a woman who has been married for almost twenty-five years and has two almost grown sons, a lot of the information in this book I knew, but other information came as a surprise.

Men are wired differently than women, and women need to recognize that and not respond to them as they would another woman. This book will help you understand Why he responded that way and will help build a stronger foundation in the working community. $22.99 hardcover. 316 pages.

Summary: Many talented women today risk undermining their careers without realizing it, simply because they don’t understand how they are perceived by their male colleagues and customers.

In What Men really Think, best-selling author Shaunti Feldhahn reveals the inner reality behind men’s views — the unspoken expectations that no man would dare to publicly acknowledge, and no woman would learn from an HR department. These revelations include:

• Men’s unwritten ‘rules’ of the workplace
• How men perceive workplace emotion
• What common situations with female colleagues most frustrate men-- and why
• Why revealing clothing can sabotage a woman’s effectiveness
• Why some men think flextime is fine, but equal compensation for it is not

What Men Really Think equips women with the information they need to make informed decisions and compete on a level playing field.
