Title: THE ONE DAY WAY
Author: Chantel Hobbs
Publisher: Waterbrook Press
ISBN: 978-0-307-45878-0
October 2009
Genre: Nonfiction/health

Lose all the weight you want, one meal, one pound, one day at a time! (from the back cover)

Tired of diet plans that don’t work? Chantel Hobbs maintains that you will look better and feel better—starting now! All you have to do is start taking baby steps today. Pass up that candy bar in the check out line. Or maybe eat a carrot stick for a snack instead of that chocolate cake. Don’t stress about that banana split you ate yesterday, yesterday is past.

Start counting small successes. Did you make it to the gym today and work out? Good for you! That is a success. Did you eat an extra serving of those green vegetables and pass up the left over Christmas cookies? That is a success.

Ms. Hobbs says that if you start celebrating the small successes you do every day, then eventually you will make healthy living a lifestyle. She says that if you break your big goals into bit sized pieces, they will be easier to access and you will feel encouraged to keep going.

I found reading THE ONE DAY WAY quite encouraging. I enjoyed the forward by Mike Huckabee, as well as the very informative introduction to the book. The chapters went into greater detail, but they were not overwhelmingly long, instead they were short and easily read in one sitting. A suggested menu plan is included, as well as exercises to follow, and a daily motivation.

If you are wanting to lose weight in 2010 and are tired of the fad diets that don’t work anyway, then THE ONE DAY WAY is a book you’ll want to consider. A beautiful hardcover book, this will be one for the keeper shelf. $19.99. 210 pages.

Author Chantel Hobbs breaks the chains of past diet debacles and frees readers from unrealistic goals. She teaches daily fitness tasks that develop into lasting habits. By focusing energy and attention on doing the right things every day, she frees readers to achieve their weight-loss goals one day at a time.
I’ve got great news for you: You are about to feel better and look better beginning today! Today is truly a new opportunity for you to reach your weight loss goals. No, you won’t fit into your “skinny jeans” today, but I’m going to show you how each day will get you closer to that goal.
Yesterday’s mistakes are gone so let them go. You can’t control tomorrow, so stop worrying about it. Today is your opportunity to lose weight, get strong, and look great. It won’t happen overnight, but you can build a new life by changing your actions immediately and I’m here to show you how to make the changes that will create the new lifestyle you dream of: body, mind, and spirit. Best of all, you will start celebrating right away!
Come on, my friend. Let’s get started! By opening this book, I’ll show you how to unlock every tool you need to lose weight and get fit —and stay that way for the rest of your life. Success can be yours, what are you waiting for?
