A Killer Among Us

Title: A KILLER AMONG US
Author: Lynette Eason
Publisher: Revell
May 2011
ISBN: 978-0-8007-3371-5
Genre: Inspirational/romantic suspense

Kit Kenyon is a hostage negotiator, and she’s just been teamed with Noah Lambert, a good detective with excellent skills. They haven’t even had time to get used to each other when they are thrown into a case involving a serial killer. Evidence mounts up, but then they realize that who ever the killer is, he or she is targeting one of them as well.

Kit is still struggling with her role as an adopted child and getting to know her biological family in addition to getting used to a new partner. Noah is all about God, and Kit doesn’t want anything to do with a God that would allow her to be given up for adoption.

But when the killer has them pinned, then only one who can possibly come to the rescue is God…but is that enough?

A KILLER AMONG US is the third book in Ms. Eason’s Women of Justice series, but it easily stands alone. I did enjoy getting reconnected with Sam and Jamie from the earlier series, and figured that Kit would be the heroine of this book. I also figured out who the killer was right away, and couldn’t believe that the police hadn’t figured it out before they did.

Still, the suspense kept my interest and I read this book from start to finish in one day, neglecting my own work. I couldn’t put it down. The romance isn’t as strong in this book as it was in some of the other books, but it was there, and there were occasional really sweet moments. I totally enjoyed this book from start to finish. $14.99. 350 pages.
