Suddenly, Zoe’s life is about to change forever. And instead of being content, Zoe becomes desperate to survive, and her future is in jeopardy.

FALSE PRETENSES is the first book in Ms. Herman’s Secrets of Roux River Bayou series. Set in Louisiana, the setting is described so well that even readers not familiar with the area can visualize it. Also, with some of the Cajun French used in the story, there is a helpful glossary included.

The story is well written, engaging and suspenseful. Zoe and Pierce are realistic characters who’s lives have just fallen apart and they are struggling to make sense of it before it destroys them, their business, and their marriage. Readers who love suspense will want to read FALSE PRETENSES. Discussion questions are included at the end of the book. $14.99. 376 pages.
