I have reviewed books for years and I can honestly say that it is very, very rare for a book to grab me from page one and hold my attention all the way through. A NOBLE GROOM did that. Even though I was busy with other stuff all day long, I still devoured this book and wished it wouldn’t end. I probably have read Ms. Hedlund’s other books, but I don’t remember them. A NOBLE GROOM will be one that goes on my keeper shelf for me to reread and enjoy again and again. I loved Carl. I loved Annalisa, I loved Greta, and other secondary characters all came to life on the page. Set in my home state of Michigan, it also talks about some of the history of that state, the German immigrants that settled it, and the lengths they were willing to go to save their land.
