When Colleen O’Keefe receives a letter from her dying father, a Montana settler, along with a blood-stained deed to his mine, she resolves to hunt down his killer and claim his mine. Not having enough money to make the trip from New York, she applies with the Westward Home and Hearts Agency to become a mail-order bride, but who would want to marry a skinny, red-haired, Irish immigrant, sick from years of labor in the textile factory?

Matchmaker Milly Crenshaw, finds a way. Montana rancher, Quinn Mobley is perfect for any bride, except he’s part Indian, and all of Milly’s clients have rejected him outright for that reason. Colleen knows about prejudice, and she has no problem marrying a man with Indian blood. Besides, all she wants from Quinn is help in hunting down her father’s killer and claiming her mine.

Quinn wants more than a marriage of convenience, but he can’t let Colleen go into the lawless wilderness alone. Besides, he knows others lay claim to the mine, and they won’t hesitate to kill again.

Marilyn's thoughts:  This is a spellbinding read filled with action and unforgettable characters. Colleen’s ethnicity had brought undue heartache, so with an opportunity to choose a groom through the mail order bride service of Milly Crenshaw she picked someone who could identify with prejudice since he had a Native American mother. Colleen also thought he might be able to enlist his service when she arrived in Montana regarding her dad’s mine and death.

The plot for this Westward Home and Heart's Mail-Order Brides Book is unique with the circumstances of Quinn and Colleen meeting at a previous mail order bride’s ranch. The challenges they faced as Quinn worked with others to find Colleen’s claim from her dad increased the mystery element as not all characters are trustworthy.

I admire how Manders weave a loving faith message into her tales while penning a fabulous story filled with drama, picturesque scenes and dialogue to show that God’s love and mercy is the greatest gift anyone can receive. There was a beautiful ending to Colleen’s Claim and not exacting what was anticipated but yet gratifying.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author as a winner on a Facebook post giveaway. I was under no obligation to write a review but have shared my own thoughts. I look forward to reading more books by Manders as they are released.
