God’s Great Love
Created the entire universe
And everything in it
Including you.
God’s Great Love for You, written by #1 New York Times bestselling author and respected pastor Rick Warren, takes children on a whimsical and heartfelt journey that lets them know God’s love is with them wherever they go. With breathtaking illustrations by Chris Saunders, the simple yet poignant text comes alive as a child journeys to places far and near and discovers God’s great love is perfect, and everywhere, and will never end.

My thoughts: (reviewed by Kaeli) GOD'S GREAT LOVE FOR YOU is a very short children's book that is about how much God love's us. It is okay for babies, but I don't think the age limit suggested above is good unless the child wasn't raised in church.  I don't like it because God loved us so much He sent His son to die for our sins and that was not even mentioned at all. I think it should've been. Otherwise, it was okay. Maybe public libraries, or church nurseries would enjoy this book, or maybe for a baby gift.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

Twas the evening of Christmas, when all through the town,
Every inn was so crowded, no room could be found.
Tired Mary and Joseph, who went door to door,
At last found a place on a small stable floor.
For over 200 years, families have gathered on Christmas Eve to hear the much loved words of Dr. Clement C. Moore’s ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. This year, families can gather together to share the real Christmas story––the story of Jesus’ birth. ’Twas the Evening of Christmas echoes the familiar language and rhythm of Dr. Clements’ poetry, but instead of focusing on Santa, it focuses on the baby Jesus, who is, after all, the true hero of Christmas. All families will delight in this simple retelling of the most famous story ever told. With a cover that comes alive with foil and sculpted embossing, this book is sure to become a Christmas classic.

My thoughts: TWAS THE EVENING OF CHRISTMAS was cute. I loved the way she retold the story of the birth of Jesus with the Night before Christmas rhymes. It was adorable, and the pictures were beautifully done.

Only complaints are it is not biblically correct.  The wise-men went to a house when the child was two years old (see the Bible versions in Matthew and Luke) and not to the stable. Also, the birth of Jesus was likely in April or May and not in December. Christmas Day is just a pagan holiday Christians adapted as a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

A cute and well done and generally accepted version if not accurate.  Cute for families, day cares, libraries, and your favorite little one.
