Love Finds You in Charm, Ohio

Title: LOVE FINDS YOU IN CHARM, OHIO
Author: Annalisa Daughety
Publisher: Summerside Press
2009
ISBN: 978-1-935416-17-3
Genre: Inspirational/contemporary/Amish

Emma Miller teaches school in her Amish community in Indiana, and she is courted by Jacob, a man everyone always figured she’d marry. But Emma isn’t happy. She dreams of red corvettes, and English clothes, and more adventure. So when she gets a letter from a relative in Charm, Ohio, offering her a job helping with the quilt shop and with Lydia’s small children, Emma is quick to agree.

Emma settles into her new community with ease, making friends with an English girl who is also in Charm for the summer, working in the book mobile. Kelly introduces Emma to her English boyfriend and his friend, Andy, and Emma gets a taste of the English world she’s always longed for.

But there is an Amish man in Charm who has also captured Emma’s eye. He is Lydia’s husband’s relative, and he is quick to offer to show Emma around. Noah and Emma hit it off, but Emma is torn. Should she return home to Indiana, join the English world, or pray for the best in Charm?

LOVE FINDS YOU IN CHARM, OHIO, is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Daughety, but the back cover says she has four books that released in 2009. I’m going to check to see what they are as soon as I finish writing this review.

Emma is a realistic character, and part of the story is also written in Kelly’s point of view as well as Emma’s sister’s Abby’s point of view, so I got to know all three of these women very well. I thought this book was a very sweet romance, a totally delightful Amish story. Readers will not be disappointed. $12.99. 314 pages.
