A Wreath of Snow

Title: WREATH OF SNOW
Author: Liz Curtis Higgs
Publisher: WaterBrook
October 2012
ISBN: 978-1400072170
Genre: Victorian Christmas Romance

All Margaret Campbell wants for Christmas is a safe journey home. When her plans for a festive holiday with her family in Stirling crumble beneath the weight of her brother’s bitterness, the young schoolteacher wants nothing more than to return to the students she loves and the town house she calls home.

Then an unexpected detour places her in the path of Gordon Shaw, a handsome newspaperman from Glasgow, who struggles under a burden of remorse and shame.

When the secret of their shared history is revealed, will it leave them tangled in a knot of regret? Or might their past hold the threads that will bind their future together?

As warm as a woolen scarf on a cold winter’s eve, A WREATH OF SNOW is a tender story of love and forgiveness, wrapped in a celebration of all things Scottish, all things Victorian, and, especially, all things Christmas.

I love Christmas novellas (even in August) so this was a treasure to find in my review pile. Margaret had gone home for Christmas, just the day before, but now, on Christmas Eve is fleeing for her townhouse in another city, just to escape her brother’s anger and bitterness.

I found myself hurting with these two characters, wanting them to find peace and forgiveness—and even love. If you like Christmas novellas, you’ll want to read A WREATH OF SNOW. Or even consider getting for someone as a gift during the upcoming holiday season. $14.99 hardcover. 224  pages.

Thanks Laura for your review. I have wanted to read this book since it published last year. Hopefully this will be the year! I love Christmas, period! I love to read Christmas stories. I listen to Christmas music all year round. It is soothing to me and the season is way too short. Nothing is more peaceful than praising God while listening to Silent Night.

Blessings!
