A Heart's Home

Title: A HEART’S HOME
Author: Colleen Coble
Publisher: Thomas Nelson

ISBN:  978-0718031695
Genre: historical romance serial
Series: Journey of the Heart #6

Emmie’s hope for a life with Isaac is overshadowed by a tragic loss at Fort Phil Kearny.
Isaac Liddle is keen to marry Emmie, and she knows she shouldn’t hide her pregnancy from him any longer. But before she can tell him her secret, a widower friend asks the impossible of Emmie: Will she honor her promise to his dead wife by marrying him to care for the orphaned baby?
With the Sioux Wars threatening outside the fort, Emmie’s solemn vow threatens her happiness from within. Will she honor a promise sure to break her heart—and Isaac’s? Or is there another way to find a home for her heart?

A HEART’S HOME is the final book in Ms. Coble’s serial series. Originally published by Heartsong Presents when Ms. Coble was a beginning writer, these books show marks of her immaturity as an author.

I love Ms. Coble’s current contemporary romantic suspense stories and so when these were offered as an ongoing series to review I jumped at them. This book has Emmie madly in love with Isaac and worried how to tell him about her first  husband.  Such a big deal is mad about it; especially after Jessica arrives in town that (spoiler alert) I was shocked she never told him. Instead, the black moment came in waves of different sorts. One of them I saw coming. The other I didn’t.

If you have never read any of Ms. Coble’s books and want to check out her writing, these would be short, easy to read books to start with. Do read in order though, as they do not stand alone. If you like historical romances and if you like serials, or if you happened to like the Heartsong Presents line, you might love these books. They are, in order: A Heart’s Disguise, A Heart’s Obsession, A Heart’s Danger, A Heart’s Betrayal, A Heart’s Promise, and A Heart’s Home.

3 stars. Available in MP3 CD, audio, and paperback. 112 pages.

I obtained this book from the publisher (via Litfuse) in exchange for my honest review.
