Taffie Carini enjoys working in her family’s candy store on the Atlantic City boardwalk. But when her parents begin planning their retirement, Taffie's not sure she has the moxie or the know-how to manage Carini’s Confections on her own.

When repairman Ryan Antonelli makes a service call at Carini's, he’s irresistibly drawn to more than just the candy. Although his marketing degree has hardly prepared him to fix a taffy-making machine, Ryan will do anything to help Taffie, with the hopes of winning her heart.

When a business mogul wants to buy Carini’s property to build a new casino, Taffie’s family’s future is threatened. Can Ryan help Taffie save Carini’s Confections? Will they find sweet love together in the process?

SALT WATER TAFFIE is an adorably sweet romance set around a candy shop. At first I wondered because both of these characters had a perfect life. Nothing going wrong. Okay, Ryan didn't have his dream job and Taffie worried about making ends meet long term, but I didn't see anything coming that would lead to a black moment.

I should've had more faith in Ms. Thompson's writing abilities. There is one (though definitely not the darkest) and there is a faith message, even though both characters are strong Christians. I enjoyed reading this. Squeaky clean, it is a good read for the most conservative reader. And it makes me hungry for salt water taffy.

5 stars.
