Title: MURDER ON THE OL’ BUNIONS

Genre: Inspirational/cozy mystery

LaTisha Barnhart has bought a couple boxes of books from her former employer, but when she and her husband go into the store to get the boxes, Marion Peters is no where to be found. LaTisha tells her husband to grab one of the boxes of books while she goes looking to see what’s holding Marion up.

What she finds is Marion’s body.

The police believe LaTisha is a suspect, since they learn that Marion had recently fired her. And now LaTisha is out to clear her name before she spends Easter in jail. But what she finds is a whole town with people with disagreements with Marion. But which one would have been angry enough to murder?

MURDER ON THE OL’ BUNIONS is the second book in Ms. Moore’s A LaTisha Barnhart Mystery series, but it easily stands alone. I enjoyed reading about this very strong opinionated heroine. This series is totally different than other ones in the cozy mystery line, but there are plenty of tense moments, and even snickers as the characters stumble into funny circumstances.

However, I wasn’t even ¼ of the way through the book when I figured out who the murderer was; it was just a matter of learning why. So, as for suspense, it wasn’t really, the murderer was fairly obvious. However, it was a good read, and I’d recommend this book if you enjoy cozy mysteries, and even looking for the three volume collection to read the third story in this series. $6.95. 251 pages.
