Title: READY-MADE FAMILY
Author: Cheryl Wyatt
Publisher: Love Inspired
Amelia North and her little girl, Reece, have been living in Amelia’s car ever since her parents kicked her out, saying that Amelia’s best isn’t good enough. But when Amelia passes out from dehydration and starvation issues and wrecks her car in the small town of Refuge, Illinois, she is stunned when people go out of her way to offer help.
Ben Dillinger is the person Reece ran to when her mother wrecked the car, and she clung to Ben during the whole time Amelia was in the hospital, and wouldn’t let anyone else care for her. Ben is stunned when he contacts Amelia’s parents and the only comment they could come up with is that they’d take Reece, but Amelia is on her own and they couldn’t care less what happened to her. How could any parents be so cold?
Ben just can’t leave Amelia alone even though she repeatedly refuses his help, and insists she has to be in Missouri to work on a certain day. Is there any hope that Amelia—or her car—will even be ready to travel in a week? Or will they be stranded—by love—in Refuge forever?
READY-MADE FAMILY is Cheryl Wyatt’s third book in her Wings of Refuge series, but it easily stands alone. The hero, Ben, is a pararescue jumper, and like all of the heroes in Ms. Wyatt’s previous books, in the military. Amelia is a stubborn woman, used to taking care of herself, and toughing it through rough situations—a sometimes good trait, and sometimes, not so good. Amelia had to learn how to accept help gratefully.something that I had to learn too.
