TRAILS & TARGETS is the first book in Ms. Hake’s new series Dangerous Darylns. I have to say it’s a unique approach to a western with four sisters trained to be Annie Oakley types and a hero who is a bone picker. I can honestly say this is the first book I’ve ever read with a hero having that occupation.
The book is slow starting, but about a fourth of the way in it piqued my interest. Then it floundered a bit more before getting more exciting again.
If you like historical western romances, you’ll enjoy TRAILS & TARGETS. Set in the Dakota Territory, it is near to an area I visited once – Devil’s
It is fun to see a setting I’m familiar with featured in a historical. I can
actually “see” what I’m reading about.
