Glory Harper is reduced to spending time in a wheelchair, due to a skateboarding accident which caused a three car pile-up, and a broken bone. Now, her amusement seems to be focused on watching her new neighbors move in. She certainly doesn’t expect to see a foot dangling out of the end of a rolled up carpet. The trouble is that no one believes her. Not her sister, Jane, or even the cute detective that was sent out to investigate the case…but seems more interested in Glory than the foot in the carpet.
When Glory learns that the people who moved in next door had won the lottery and had millions of dollars, she was even more confused why they would move themselves, move into her neighborhood, and buy used furniture. And what about the stipulation in her former neighbor’s will that the house could only go to family members?
The more Glory learns, the more she’s convinced that she’s stumbled into something much more complicated than simply getting new neighbors. But how can she convince the police that she really did see a body—well, a foot? And has she made enough enemies in her snooping to put her life in danger?
THE CASE OF THE BOUNCING GRANDMA is the first published novel by talented writer, A. K. Arenz. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Glory and her family, and the mystery had me completely from page one. It certainly is a unique twist, having the heroine confined to a wheelchair and yet stumbling across a mystery simply by watching the neighborhood.
There were some thinly veiled slams in this book toward the home school community, but as Glory was a teacher, it was probably just her opinion. I couldn’t help but root for the gutsy Glory as she attempted to convince her family she really wasn’t insane, ward off romantic advances from the handsome detective, and keep her sense of humor intact. Parts of the book were laugh out loud funny. A sample of Ms. Arenz’s next mystery A Case of the Mystified M.D. is included at the end of the book. $12.99. 261 pages.

Sounds like a good book! Your writing makes the book interesting. I recently completed a nonfiction, hardcover book titled Escape. It was about a woman who escaped a religious cult with eight children and a true story. I found it interesting, and it offered much insight to the lives of women and children living in such cults.
Blessings,
Barb
