Kissing Santa

Title: KISSING SANTA
Author: June Foster
Publisher: Helping Hands Press
ASIN:
December 2015
Genre:  Young Adult / Christmas

Sixteen-year-old Haley Flannery has a suspicion she'd like to become a nurse someday, but for now, she needs to graduate from high school. When the student council plans a Christmas dance, she volunteers to find someone to play Santa. The cutest guy in the entire school and quarterback of Harrellsonville's football team, Bret Sanford.

Asking him isn't the easiest task, but when he says yes, she's thrilled. And what would it hurt to give Santa a thank-you kiss under the mistletoe at the dance? But when she puckers up, he tells her to get lost, and her heart is broken forever. How could the dreamiest boy in school be so sweet one minute and such a jerk the next?

Christmas is maybe the holiday season with the most memories attached to it for many people. The folks in Sweetland are no exception. Memories seep through the sands of time and color their lives with reflections of past scenes, both beautiful and blue. The stories will fit into your heart like comfortable slippers on a cool day.

My thoughts:   KISSING SANTA is a totally cute young adult book about a teen girl, about sixteen, who has a crush on the star football player who also is in her Algebra class. Haley needs a volunteer to play Santa for a school dance, and is trying to work up her courage to ask Brett to do it...

I enjoyed getting to know Haley, and Brett, and Haley's fears are totally realistic for how girls feel around their "crushes."  I would recommend this for a cute story to download to your favorite preteen or early teen's ereader.  Recommended.  5 stars
