Creative Slow-Cooker Meals

Title: CREATIVE SLOW-COOKER MEALS

Genre: Crockpot cooking / recipes

As a busy writer on a tight deadline, and a busy mom of five, sometimes it is hard to come up with time to cook meals. I use my slow-cooker a lot, but mainly for things like soups that can simmer all day long. I’ve been looking for a good recipe book to make other things in slow-cookers so I could use it for something other than soup. This is the book I’ve been waiting for!

In this recipe book, recipes aren’t divided up in the traditional way—as in meats here and vegetables there. Instead they are paired, so if you own two crock pots then you can cook two different things at once for a delicious home cooked meal.

Recipes are included for things such as:

 Meatball Submarine Sandwiches and Triple Pepper Roast
 Hot Turkey Sandwiches and Apple Cider Punch
 Frozen Cranberry Salad and Minnesota Wild Rice Soup
 Chicken Pitas and Greek Green Beans in Tomato Sauce
 Peanut Wings and Asian Scallop “Stir Fry”
 Spaghetti Squash Tacos and Black Beans & Rice

I tried a few of the recipes out already (I only have one slow-cooker) like Black Beans & Rice, Cooked Apple Slices, and Sausage-Shrimp Jambalaya and they turned out wonderful. I’m looking forward to trying more of these recipes—and getting another slow-cooker so I can do both suggestions at once!

The book does includes selections for breakfast, different nationality foods, simple meals, parties & barbecues, vegetarian and vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free as well as an index so you can find specific recipes easily. Highly recommended by this family of seven.
