Strenthen Your Family – Get into the Word – Together
Sword Studies are age-appropriate materials that allows your family, regardless of the age or grade level of each family member, to enter into a serious study of scripture together. There is no better way to strengthen your family relationships, than to ground yourself in the Word.
II Timothy – from the dark, dank recesses of a Roman prison, the Apostle Paul wrote his powerful last words to his true son in the faith, Timothy. Paul’s Spirit-inspired, practical instruction to young Timothy, and his vital carge to stand firm in the faith despite growing persecution, will reach through the years to hit home in the hearts of your own family. Become fellow learners together with Timothy under Paul’s tutchage as you learn, day by day, to be unashamed workmen who are thoroughly equipped in the everlasting truth of Scripture.
SWORD STUDY is a Family-Centered Bible Study on II Timothy, and it’s available in paperback books for each age level. There is a preschool and early elementary level where the children can color, play games, and learn a little about God and the Bible.
There is an upper elementary level where the child does a little more advanced work such as answer a few simple questions. A highschool level for older kids and the mom/dad level which is even more advanced.
We started working through this individually, as each lesson is set up for a week and day at a time. At the end of the week, there is a family “bonfire” time when the family gathers to discuss what they learn.
Students who want to study the Bible as a family with books specifically designed for each age group will want to pick up copies of SWORD STUDY for themselves. It is biblically sound and will immense the student into the Word in a deeper way that a simple devotion. Ideal for homeschoolers, or others who want to study as a family.
My only complaint is that not all suggestions for bonfire family time are do-able due to possibly financial or location issues. For example, one suggestions is to take the family out to eat in a Greek restaurant, look at the pictures on the wall, and discuss how Paul ate that type food and how he might have ministered in that locale. If you live in a rural area, you don’t have access to Greek restaurants. But it could be gotten around by looking at pictures of Greece online and planning a Greek style meal that evening.

The Sword Study series, originally created for competitors in The Shelby Kennedy Foundation's National Bible Bee, is now available to everyone for the first time. Families no longer have to compete in the Bible Bee to establish family discipleship in the home with this one-of-a-kind study.
The Sword Study available for this tour is II Timothy. I John is also available to the public and I Peter is scheduled for release in the fall of 2013. A new study is scheduled to be released each year. For more information visitwww.swordstudy.org.
