Hollywood Texas

Title: HOLLYWOOD TEXAS
Author: Kathleen Y’Barbo
Publisher: self
February 2014
ASIN: B00IK8528E
Genre: contemporary romance novella

Movie industry insiders may call actress Amy Foreman the next Grace Kelley, but Texas veterinarian Adam Chambers calls her the woman who broke his heart. Now she’s grooming dogs in his clinic while the trouble she left back in California untangles in her absence.

Where does a woman with the most famous face in America go to hide? Home, of course. From Hollywood, Texas to Hollywood, California and back again…can a small town veterinarian and a famous hometown movie star rekindle their lost love?

I'm used to reading Ms. Y'Barbo's historicals, but this was a nice change of pace. Amy had chased fame and fortune across the country, but ended up going  home due to false claims and a ruined reputation. When she needs a job and goes to Adam for help, Adam is not so quick to say no, but his mom is quicker to say yes when an employee quits, leaving her busier than ever with trying to run his front desk.

I didn't exactly connect with the characters, but it was a good story.  A bit of intrigue is included...but resolved quickly and without issue.

If you like contemporary novellas then you'll want to read HOLLYWOOD TEXAS. 71 pages. $1.99 Kindle.
