Yuletide Ice Cube Fair / The First Christmas Ever

It's that wonderful time of year again---the Yuletide Ice Cube Fair! It's a time of festivity and fun as veggies gather to munch on snow cones, slurp down slushies, and ice skate on the frozen pond. But the greatest part of all is the Ice Cube Carving Contest! The veggies have been busy! They've carved Christmas feasts, trees, angels, and more. Each one is trying to outdo the other in an effort to win the grand prize! But the smallest of all these ice entries is a carving done by Junior Asparagus---a tiny stable with a shepherd on one knee. Kids will discover that it's not what's grand, or bigger, or best that's most important on Christmas---it's Jesus!

YULETIDE ICE CUBE FAIR is just as cute as can be. I love the premise behind this book, and it is so perfect for the upcoming holiday season. My five children are huge fans of Veggie Tales, so they all really loved that book. And it is so perfect, with the seemingly most insignificant carving (the smallest) is the one that shows the real meaning of Christmas.

If you are looking for a Christmas book for your favorite child (ages 4 – 8, but any age really) then look no further! YULETIDE ICE CUBE FAIR needs to be on your Christmas list, for sure. $3.99. 24 pages. Also available in board books for the baby bunch.

A simple retelling of the Christmas story, from the angel’s visit to Mary to the shepherds’ joyful praise of the new born Baby, this small format paperback, The First Christmas Ever is sure to be popular with young readers. Using the vibrant and popular artwork of Dennis Jones, families can share this timeless story of God’s love each holiday season.

THE FIRST CHRISTMAS EVER is a sweet book depicting the biblical account of the Nativity. Children (ages 4 – 8) will love hearing the story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus. It is perfect to read to children as you set up your nativity scene, or tell the Christmas story around the tree, or even as a bedtime story.

I loved rereading this story, and the illustrations were well done. If you are looking for a true to the Bible retelling of the birth of Jesus, then be sure to pick up THE FIRST CHRISTMAS EVER. $1.99. 32 pages.
