A Father's Promise
Rhys Maddox wants nothing more than custody of his two sons. Released from prison after a wrongful charge, the widowed dad will do anything to bring his boys home where they belong. But that doesn't include falling for their former social worker. Now leading an outreach program for families in transition,

Renee Delacroix can't escape the tall, dark and intriguing single dad…or his adorable little boys. But Rhys is determined to go it alone. Until one incident that may cost him what he wants the most. Now it's up to Renee to save him…if she can make him see she's just what he needs to complete their forever family.

My thoughts:  REUNITING HIS FAMILY  is Ms. Gordon's latest Love Inspired romance.  A widowed father, fresh out of jail, and suffering from severe social problems as a result, Rhys is definitely a wounded hero. Renee is a social worker, but very young and she can't seem to make up her mind what she wants to do with her life.

At first and second glance there is no way this couple will work out. As a social worker, Renee is out to find every fault she possibly can with Rhys to keep his kids in the foster care system. Then she changes jobs and is upset that he's trying to get the Christian support he needs and to become involved in his sons' lives.  Plus he scares her to death.

I was beginning to wonder if this couple would ever find their way to a happy ever after.

Ms. Gordon is a master at coming up with ways for couples not to even like each other and yet find their way to love. A slow moving romance, perfect for a lazy summer night. With swimming, motocross, backyard barbecues and plenty of ice cream, this book fits the bill. Don't miss REUNITING HIS FAMILY.
