The Peace That Passes Understanding by Jenna V Hilton

Philippians 4:7 (KJV)

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

My pit bull lab mix, Skye, has this weird behavior when it comes to visitors. She screams her head off at the mail man, the UPS guy, anybody that involves us going outside. Skye is chill with the trash man because my sister and I stay inside. But if we have to step outside for any reason, ESPECIALLY for visitors, she goes nuts! We’re HER humans!! Paws off!

We react like that to some situations too. We see a particularly frightening scenario and we think, “I’d better keep away from that”. But sometimes those frightening situations hold huge heavenly rewards! God loves us. He holds us in the palm of His hands and we need not fear, because He has gone before. He knows what’s coming. So just hang on for the ride, knowing our Savior is with us.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for always being with us. Help us to remember that you will give us no hardship without equipping us to deal with it, and give us peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Jenna V. Hilton is seventeen, and lives in Arkansas with her parents, two sisters, and dog. She is a senior in high school and planning to attend college to become a veterinarian.

Another insightful devotional, Jenna! Keep writing.
Skye is only protecting "her humans."
