During the winter months, we like to dress up my pitbull lab mix, Skye. Skye is not happy with this arrangement. She lets us put sweaters on her, and take one or two pictures, then we have to take it off before the sweater gets ripped to shreds.
After the ordeal, Skye is very needy and demands comfort. Sometimes, we get in uncomfortable situations as well. God tells us to do something, and we balk. “Did I hear you right?” Maybe it’s something as big as being a missionary in a foreign country. Maybe something as small as befriending that one person you don’t like.
God calls us out of our comfort zone to help us grow. As Christians, we can’t stay still. We either go back or go forward. But God assures us that He “is with us always, even unto the ending of the world.” He will give us the strength and courage to do what he calls us to.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for helping us grow in you. Help us to do what you called us to do. In Jesus Name, Amen.
