If Kiah didn’t already feel so connected to GHB, Hallie would be a perfect wife—and it seems most of Hidden Springs’s would-be matchmakers agree! Though Hallie is peculiarly opposed to uncovering GHB’s true identity, she understands Kiah almost as well as his mystery pen pal. The longer he searches for GHB, the more Kiah finds himself hoping Hallie will be holding the pen that first captured his heart. But will Hallie ever trust Kiah with the truth about her identity . . . and her feelings for him?
Marilyn’s thoughts:
Laura Hilton never fails to create a story that will hook
readers from the start. The Amish Secret Wish was the same with the bantering
among characters, especially with Kiah and George. Kiah had one purpose when he
arrived in Hidden Springs but he was surprised how his heart connected to
Hallie. The antics that Kiah endured in trying to find the Budget scribe while
there gave way to unexpected twists and turns with a gentle underlying theme of
God’s ways are higher than ours when we open our eyes and heart. Bishop Nathan
statement, “When there seems there is nothing left, there is still hope.”
played a role for Hallie to start letting go of her past. The connection
between the heroine and hero faced multiple obstacles with the input and
questioning of community members. Will Hallie and Kiah find their answers to
what their hearts are saying?
This is a wonderful story filled with humor, forgiveness,
family, faith, hope and love. It was astonishing to see the growth of the
characters that Hilton created in this five star tale. I would love to see a
continuation of this series from the author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book without any
obligation to write a positive review. I have expressed my own opinion.
