Marilyn's thoughts:

This riveting tale is a dual timeline dating back to the 1800's. The historical and fictional characters leaped from the pages with the flow of Tolsma penned words and creativity of the past to the present with struggles, faith, and romance for characters. I appreciate the history found in the story surrounding the battle of the Alamo, faith, and the sacrifices made along with the romance during difficult times. Tolsma never disappoints with her historical books as the history is well researched and characters that stand out with their traits.

A Promise Engraved is another wonderful contribution from Barbour Publishers for their Doors of the Past series. Each book is filled with well researched historical events, dimensional characters, faith and a budding romance for each dual timeline. I look forward to the next book in this series.
