Widower Paul Aubrey wants nothing more than to return to the States with his little girl, but the US Army convinces him to keep his factory running and obtain military information from his German customers. As the war rages on, Paul offers his own resistance by sabotaging his product and hiding British airmen in his factory. After they meet in the bookstore, Paul and Lucie are drawn to each other, but she rejects him when she discovers he sells to the Germans. And for Paul to win her trust would mean betraying his mission.

My thoughts: this is one of my favorite historical authors with good reason. She makes time and history come to life in her stories with real life characters and drama and heartbreaking stories that you can't help rooting and even praying for the situation. I can't imagine the courage that the real life people who actually survived these events went through I don't know if I had the strength to do half the things that they did. They were truly brave. If you like world war II history with lots of historical facts, drama, romance, and much more you will want to read Sarah Sundins books.. I couldn't put my copy down.
