My thoughts: DEFENDING HONOR is the third book in this series co-written by Lynette Eason, but it easily stands alone. I will be honest and say it is very hard to review this book. I didn't like Laila. Preston I loved. I guessed Who-dun-it about halfway through the book. And a lot of the story seemed contrived. There is no faith message, and while there are kisses there are no sparks. I'm sorry. This book was a miss for me. I wanted to like it, but it was more skim-worthy than sit down and devour, However, if you like romantic suspense and loved Ms. Eason's original series, you will want to read this spin-off collection. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.
