Have you ever felt totally confused by the opposite sex?

You can talk to guys or girls all day, but it doesn’t even seem like you’re speaking the same language. Girl Talk Guy Talk is here to help, with more than 50 devotions each for guys and girls that can show you how to build the communication skills you need to have healthy relationships.

Take the Communication Quotient Quiz to see how you rate, and then tackle topics like how to behave on a date, cope with rejection, handle yourself in text messages or online, have hard conversations, and live out your faith in a culture saturated by the world’s values. With stories, checklists, factoids, and skill-building tips, authors Jesse Florea and Karen Whiting will encourage and equip you to understand how the opposite sex is wired and how to build healthy, lasting relationships.

One of the most awkward things about growing up is learning to communicate with the opposite sex. What is she thinking? Why did he do that? Teen guys and girls know they often don’t understand the opposite sex or know how to talk to one another.

Communication is a key tool in life. We interact with words, gestures, and movements. The devotions in Girl Talk Guy Talk give insights that focus on different aspects of teen life to help both guys and girls better understand and communicate with the opposite sex. Various styles of devotions, including stories, checklists, quizzes, fact-based news, text messages, and skill-building tips will encourage and equip young girls and guys to understand how the opposite sex is wired and how to best relate with them.

My thoughts: GIRL TALK GUY TALK is a book I was excited to get for my teen daughters, neither of whom know how to talk to guys--even though they have two brothers. But yeah, I get that talking to brothers is totally different than trying to talk to the totally cute guy you're crushing on -- and when you find his name on a Coca-Cola bottle you get all squeally-gigglely. Yeah, that happened recently.

The devotions are timely for teens too. One of them is about negative comments. There is a verse about words and then thoughts about bad, hurtful things people say to us and why they might have, and suggested times to ignore them, and times when to take them to heart and learn from them. It also suggests that likewise, positive words can become detrimental.

There are also a lot of fun quizzes - and anyone with daughters know they love these quizzes. They learn about themselves.  If only school quizzes are so easy, right?  What would you do if. . . .and choices of A, B, C, and D.  There are also true/false questions and fill in the blank questions.

GIRL TALK GUY TALK is sure to become a hit with your tween or teen daughter and their friends. Might even be good to discuss in a small group setting.  I got a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
