Gail Sattler lives in Vancouver BC Canada, where you don't have to shovel rain. When she's not feverently writing (Gail Sattler has over 40 published novels and novellas, plus a few works of non-fiction) she plays bass in an Elton John tribute band and a jazz band, and piano in a smaller jazz band. When she's not writing or making music (or at her day job) Gail likes to sit back and read a book written by someone else, along with a good cup of hot coffee.

Post:

The background of The Other Neighbor is based on a true story. I think there are many books that started with something interesting the author came across, and built it into a story, and The Other Neighbor is one of those books.

I wonder how many books we read are based on something that really happened - with a lot of leeway taken by the author, of course.  In the case of The Other Neighbor, the real part is the antagonist and his plan, and the rest of the story happened around it.

This was a fun book to write. As it continued on, I had to keep thinking what would happen next as the target date became closer, and everything was coming together. Then it was a lot of fun to build the romance around it, after all, that's what I do.
