Your Crown
Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that
Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy
4:8 RSV
There
is a picture that blesses my heart. It is a photo of a little girl, about five
years old, wearing a vintage dress, her long brunette curls framing her face.
She is adjusting her crown. Her eyes are closed. Some may view her expression
as smug, yet I see confidence—serenity. She knows who she is and who her Daddy
is. He is the King.
As
believers, do we show the same serenity? We come from royalty. We are daughters
of the one and only true King, and we have our Heavenly Father’s DNA. Do we
walk and talk like him? Do we show his compassion, love, forgiveness, grace,
and generosity to others?
What
do others see in us?
Dear Lord, thank You
for the crown that awaits me. While I wait, may others see You in me, I pray.
Amen.

That's lovely, B.J., and it gets me thinking on how we think of ourselves as daughters of the King. How should I act, what kind of expression should I wear on my face and present to others? Thank you for sharing, I'll be thinking about this all day.
A beautiful reminder we are daughters of the King and every action should reflect His greatness. The King's Daughters devotional sounds lovely to use. Thank you for sharing, B. J.
Thank you, Laura. You continue to bless me.
