This is a wonderful collection of historical novellas
surrounding tales of lumberjacks and finding love while working a dangerous job
during the 1800’s. Each author’s tale is well written with characters that drew
me in. Travel back in time from Maine in 1851, to 1865 in Michigan, on to
Wisconsin in 1881 and finally end in Idaho 1890 at a lumberjack camp.
Each tale were descriptive of the lumberjacks daily lives and
what the heroine was struggling or trying to overcome. There are secrets, a
touch of mystery, history, faith and romance that made each novella a charming
story. I had read a couple of the authors before knowing I would enjoy their
contribution, but a bonus was connecting with new authors to me. I highly
recommend this latest collection from Barbour Publishing to fans of historical
Christian fiction mixed with American history and romance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour
Publishing and was under no obligation to write a positive review. I have expressed
my own opinion for this well organized and written collection.
