Rachel Sutton is on her way out of a restaurant with lunch when she notices a scrap of orange in a snow drift. When she digs it out, she notices it’s an abandoned doll. Thinking that the mother lost it, Rachel picks it up, intending to put it in the store’s lost and found. But when she touches the doll, Rachel has a panic attack. Unsure how to react, Rachel talks to a friend who’s husband is a police officer, then against better judgment, takes the doll to the FBI.
FBI Agent, Nick Bradley has seen his share of kooks, but Rachel doesn’t seem to fit the mood. Still, her story is strange. Nick takes the doll, planning to dump it, but it still has it when he discovers a link between the doll and a child abducted from Chicago.
A reporter overhears Rachel’s friend talk about the doll and believes that Rachel is a psychic, something that freaks the kidnapper out when she reads the article. Suddenly Rachel’s life is on the line. Will connect the dots in time to save the child and the witness?
IN HARM’S WAY is the third and final book in Ms. Hannon’s Heroes of Quantico series but it easily stands alone. I didn’t read the first two books but I fully intend to get my hands on them!
Rachel and Nick have an instant spark that triggered this romance lover’s interest. Plus the suspense kept the pages turning. Both characters are realistically developed, and the plot line is believable. I highly recommend this book. $14.99. 324 pages.
