When Love Blooms

Title: WHEN LOVE BLOOMS
Author: Robin Lee Hatcher
Publisher: Zondervan
March 2009
ISBN: 978-0-310-25928-2
Genre: Inspirational/historical

Emily Harris gave up her position in Washington to return to her ill sister’s side and nurse her back to health. But now, Emily was bored. She wanted one last adventure before marrying and becoming just a society wife. And when she saw the ad for a governess to two young girls, she knew her prayers have been answered.

Gavin Blake has seen Emily Harris’s type before. Beautiful and refined, she was not familiar with backbreaking work and constant hardship. He was willing to bet she wouldn’t even last the winter out in the Idaho high country. But his dying wife had insisted on Emily, and Gavin had to honor her wishes.

But Emily is a surprise, and in spite of everything, Gavin soon starts developing feelings for Emily. But will Emily be willing to stay past the winter she promised? Or will she be in a hurry to return back to high society?

WHEN LOVE BLOOMS is one of the two newest releases by acclaimed author Robin Lee Hatcher, and I know her fans will not be disappointed. True to Ms. Hatcher’s voice, the stories are gentle, and filled with hope—even with a dying woman as a main secondary character.

I enjoyed reading this story and getting to know Emily and Gavin. I had to admire Emily’s courage as she took on the unfamiliar circumstances with pluck. WHEN LOVE BLOOMS is a book that historical romance fans will not want to miss. A sample chapter of A Vote of Confidence, Ms. Hatcher’s next release, is included at the end of this book. $14.99. 290 pages.
