Twice Promised
Title: TWICE PROMISED
Author: Maggie Brendan
Publisher: Revell
October 2012
ISBN: 978-0800734633
Genre: Historical romance
Two beautiful brides. One unsuspecting groom. Three weeks to figure it out.
Greta Olsen arrives in Central City, Colorado as a mail order bride. She expects to marry Jess Gifford, the man she’s been exchanging letters with. But when she arrives at the train station, Cora Johnson is waiting at the train station for Jess as well.
Cora Johnson’s story is the same as Greta’s. She is a mail order bride, expecting to marry Jess. ..
When Jess’s brother, Zach picks the two women up at the station, both are shocked to realize that not only must they compete to be the bride, but that Jess knows nothing about any mail order brides—not to mention two. Will Jess be willing to marry either of them?
TWICE PROMISED is the latest historical romance by talented author Maggie Brendan. It has an exciting premise, one I don’t think I’ve seen done before (and with as much as I read, this is unusual!).
Readers who love historical romances and especially mail order bride romances will inhale this well-written story. The reader will be cheering for both women and poor unsuspecting Jess. Good book, but a little slow. $14.99. 330 pages.
