When the flush of
victory fades, there remains a winding road to an uncertain future.
World War II is finally over and the people of Rosey Corner are joyfully welcoming the boys home. The Merritt sisters in particular are looking toward the future. Kate is eager to start a family and live out her dream of happily ever after with Jay. Evangeline craves a beautiful house and encourages Mike to pastor a big-town church.Victoria
wants what can never be. And Lorena is growing up and wondering more and more
about her birth family.
Each sister must learn to hold her plans with a loose hand, trusting that God will guide and strengthen them as they share the joys and sorrows of life in their little corner of the world.
Award-winning and bestselling author Ann Gabhart invites you back to Rosey Corner for a heartfelt story that closes the distance between the things that were and things that can yet be.
LOVE COMES HOME has several points of view in it. Each of the sisters, plus the husbands. Parts of the story ripped my heart out. I couldn't believe Evangeline's selfishness--she could've lost her husband as Victoria did, but Mike lived, and came home suffering from the trauma of war and she acted like a big baby that he wasn't bowing to her every demand. I admired Kate's strength, and I wanted Victoria to find love again...
I have to say, I love Jay.
I'm not sure if this is the conclusion to this series or not, but fans will want to read Angel Sister and Small Town Girl first as this series doesn't stand alone. The story was a bit rambly feeling and disjointed at times, but as the author was going through a rough time (as stated in the author letter at the back) it is understandable.
Fans of Sarah Sundin, Tricia Goyer, and other WWII authors will love Ms. Gabhart's book. Don't miss LOVE COMES HOME. $14.99. 377 pages. A recipe is included at the end of the book.

Evangeline also rubbed me the wrong way, but what a wonderful story!
