WORDS MATTER

“I believed, and
therefore I have spoken . . . .”
(2 Corinthians 4: 13)
(2 Corinthians 4: 13)
If
you want to know what you believe, listen to what you say. Your words
reveal what is in your heart, for the Word of God says that “out of the abundance
of the heart, the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12: 34).
God
created the entire universe with words. Made in His image, we create our
personal universe with our words.
So,
what words are you speaking?
For
the next 24 hours, listen closely to what you are saying. Are you speaking
words of life or words of death? Are you speaking words that build or words
that destroy? Are you speaking words that heal or words that wound?
Your
words control your destiny. The Bible tells us that “death and life are in
the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18: 21). The words you choose to speak will
create your future. Just as God created the universe with words, so do we
create our future with words.
So,
choose now to speak only words of life. When you do, you will be imitating
and pleasing our Father in Heaven.

A mother, her son , and the man who threatens to come between them . . .
When Maria Landro Tonetta receives word that Mama is terminally ill, Maria travels to her Sicilian homeland with her son Nico. She finds herself yearning for the life she once knew as a child on Bella Terra, the family farm, now on the verge of bankruptcy.
Caught between two worlds, Maria dreams of moving back to Sicily with her husband and children to save the farm. When, however, Nico’s biological father unexpectedly appears at Mama’s funeral, Maria faces a new enemy to her dream.
But is there an even greater enemy within her own soul?

A powerful message in Words Matter. Thank you for sharing this devotional.
Return to Bella Terra sounds intriguing. I do not recall reading a book set in Sicily.
