MERCURY RISING is different than anything I've done before. For starters, it's my first non romance. Of course at the end you can see the 2 couples are going to stay together (oops sorry for the spoiler, but, well, you know...)
This story is the first co-written project with my husband. We've been working on it off and on for probably a decade, starting when our youngest son was in Grade 12. I was working graveyard shift (office job) and my husband ran a small business and worked mostly from home, so his hours were flexible. I would get home about 6;30am, play around on the computer for a little while, my husband and son would get up, we would take him to school, which was across town, and then we would go to the Alouette River and walk the dogs on the path for about an hour. It was there we came up with the idea for this book. We talked about it and plotted it out over the course of the school year, and MERCURY RISING was born. Well, sort of.
Life was busy, work and the business changed, and time went on. It wasn't until our youngest son, who is now a journeyman plumber, moved out and got married, and we became empty nesters, that we continued on with our story. Mantle Rock Publishing picked it up, and it's now out.
We're in the process of discussing a follow up story. Only this time it's not going to take ten years. Promise. :)
Genre; Supernatural Adventure
Mercury Rising - blurb
Michael wants to save his daughter, but first he’s got to save the world.
Michael and Charlotte meet when Michael is trying to find Ashley, his missing daughter, and Charlotte is trying to find Jon, her son, who have both gone missing.
Jon is Ashley’s tutor, but tonight, they are not studying. They have broken into the office of Jon’s favorite professor, who has been murdered. Ashley and Jon should have nothing in common, but now they have become ensnared in a tangled web that becomes worse with every new discovery.
When Michael and Charlotte join together to figure out what their children have become invoved with, they, too, are sucked into a sinkhole in which there are no answers, only more questions.
Time is running out. When all seems lost, will they all recognize the source of strength offered to them, and… will they take it?
Gail Sattler lives in Vancouver BC Canada, where you don't have to shovel rain. A recent empty nester, Gail and her husband Tim finished a book they've been working on for pretty much ten years, and they're still (happily) married. Gail is the published author of 40 novels and novellas, plus a few works of non-fiction. MERCURY RISING is their first co-written project.
